Time to turn the central heating on!

As the seasons change and the cold weather starts descending upon us, it’s important to get your central heating system warmed up (excuse the pun!). It may sound odd for us to offer this advice when we’ve barely said goodbye to summer, but paying attention to your central heating system now could save you problems in the future.

What do I need to do?
It’s really simple – just turn your central heating system on once every two or three radiator weeks, leaving it on for a couple of hours at a time. This will keep the system ticking over. Did you know that central heating systems can fail simply to due minimal or no use for a period of several months? That’s why this is so important.

It’s also useful because it means if you find there’s a problem with your heating system, we can send an engineer out sooner rather than later to take a look. October, November and December is a very busy period for us in terms of appointments, so by checking your system now, we can take a look before waiting times become longer. Plus, if there is a problem, it’s better that it happens during what’s left of the warm weather! It’s always horrible sitting without heat during the cold winter months.
